I laughed so hard, so many times, especially in the last 30-ish minutes. But at one point about halfway through, the laughter started. I kept trying to give it a chance, I can enjoy a flawed movie. But the setup shows you it will max out at mediocre. The movie starts with an intriguing opening. This is a movie that begs for a psychological aspect but is given none. The story was formulaic, and the metaphor on fear manifestation was so literal that I hesitate to even call it a metaphor. None of the characters were likeable, partly because of the brash realism of the writing and partly because of the shallow acting. The opening credit sequence was nicely arranged, but I think it's safe to say that the opening credits should not be the high point of a film. There were a total of two, maybe three scenes that offered me something incrementally above unwatchable. But we must take the bad with the good, and conversely, there has also been an increase in junk like this. Horror films are continuing to flood into cinemas, and with that, we've gotten a slew of standout scary movies.
